Dublin calls out to foodies

People who know tasty food have an event coming up in Dublin they will not want to miss.

Fadó Irish Pub is the organizer and venue for an upcoming Chef’s Dinner. The event is a wine-pairing meal, an event at which a wine expert chooses the vintage that will best complement the food. The wines are from the Prisoner Family Wine Company in California, and will be poured by Justin Wise, who has a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level II qualification.

The menu starts with a pear charcuterie board comprising seasonal cheese, olives, prosciutto, crackers, and fresh pears, paired with a Saldo Chenin Blanc. The second course features fennel and carrot soup with a garnish of dukkah – a Middle Eastern blend of spices, nuts, and herbs. The wine is a Blindfold Blanc de Noir.

Next is a beet salad finished with a rosemary/honey dressing, paired with Prisoner Unshackled Pinot Noir. The entree is a Cornish hen stuffed with apricots and served with braised greens, paired with Prisoner Red Blend.

Finally, if anyone has room, dessert is a cardamom custard tart served with honey and fig paired with a Watershed Nocino, a walnut liqueur. The walnuts used to make this drink are from the chef’s own family farm. Organizers of events like this can turn to flyer printing to create attractive Menus.

The dinner is Tuesday, February 7, and tickets are limited. Fadó is at 6652 Riverside Drive.
