Dublin is getting ready to demonstrate its community spirit.
The city’s Community Service Day brings volunteers of every age together to assist residents in need, older adults, non-profit organizations, and local schools with outdoor projects and spring clean-up efforts. The event’s success is measured by both the people whose lives are enhanced, but by the pride in the community that it fosters.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate. They will gather at the Dublin Community Recreation Center, 5600 Post Road, and meet the leader of their team and learn what project they will be working on. They will also receive a T-shirt as a thank you, given on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. They will head out to their assigned work area and return to the center for lunch.
Organizers suggest volunteers bring gardening or landscaping tools, sunscreen, and bottled water. They also suggest volunteers label any personal items with their phone number and name.
In the case of light rain, the event will go forward, but if thunderstorms, lightning, and high winds occur, the event will be cancelled. Volunteers should check the weather before heading for the Recreation Center.
The 2025 Community Service Day is May 3, with registration scheduled from 8.30 am until 9.00 am. Lunch will be provided between 11.30 am and 1.00 pm. Organizers of events like this can work with banner printing to create Signs that make it easy for volunteers to find their teams.
