B.R.E.A.D! Festival returns to Dublin

The celebration of cultural diversity known as the B.R.E.A.D.! Festival was a surprise hit in 2016, and will be back this year to continue the party.

B.R.E.A.D.! stands for ‘Bake, Reconnect, Educate, make Art and celebrate Diversity’. Last year, 8,000 people turned out, and this year, the crowds promise to be even larger.

People who trek to the Historic Dublin area will find booths sponsored by the many different ethnicities and cultures represented in Dublin's population. There will also be food trucks, and—of course—bread.

The booths give visitors the chance to learn about cultures different from their own, through food, exhibits, and interactive events. For instance, cakes and coffee are available at the German booth, while the Irish booth displays a typical sitting room.

Other cultures that will take part in the festival this year are the Japanese, Polish, Indian, Korean, Nepali, and Bhutanese.

In addition, this year the Dublin Arts Council has decided to allocate $3,000 to those community organizations who are participating in the festival. The stipend will allow them to purchase the supplies they need to attend the event.

The 2017 B.R.E.A.D.! Festival will be held October 21, from noon until 9:00 pm, and is free to attend.

Such events can be enhanced if organizers work with a flyer printing company to create a handout for attendees, listing exhibitors and where they are located.
