Art exhibit announced in Dublin

The Dublin Arts Council has announced an upcoming exhibit that is perfect for this city—a group of paintings inspired by the sport of golf.

Artist Aida Garrity has an intriguing biography. She was only five when she discovered how much she loved painting, thanks to art classes she attended at the Museo de Bellas Artes in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. However, despite loving art, she decided to concentrate on her studies, and received a full-tuition scholarship to the Imperial College University of London, where she studied metallurgical engineering, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She worked in engineering for 30 years, and in 2006, returned to her first love, painting. In 2010, she received her Master’s in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Academy of Art University.

Garrity is now a “representational” artist, recreating actual objects, people, or landscapes so that viewers recognize the subjects from real life. As is fitting for Dublin, her new exhibit is based on the scenes she has observed at the city's golf courses. Her works are filled with deep green grass, energetic golfers in colorful clothing, mature trees, and well-maintained fairways.

The exhibit opens April 27, and runs through June 7, at the Dublin Arts Council on Riverside Drive. Brochure printing can be used to create a catalog for an event like this.
