Wahlburgers coming to Cincinnati

After a lot of speculation and anticipation, the official word finally came to eager fans: Wahlburgers is going to open a store in Cincinnati, according to an article on Cincinnati.com.

The announcement was made the day after restaurateur Jeff Ruby was photographed standing with Mark Wahlberg, who had stopped at Ruby's steakhouse for a meal while in Cincinnati for business. The photo shows the two men holding cigars, of which Ruby is an aficionado, and was signed by Wahlberg, who wrote “Best N.Y. Strip I ever ate!”

Besides having dinner, it appears Wahlberg was actually getting down to business, making final plans for the second Wahlburgers in Ohio, which is scheduled to open in Cincinnati's downtown. It will take over the former Pi Pizzeria space in the AT580 building at Main and Sixth. No opening date has yet been announced.

Many of the city's residents have been waiting for a Wahlburgers to open in Cincinnati since Wahlberg announced expansion plans for the chain. The first Wahlburgers in Ohio opened in Cleveland in May.

Wahlburgers is a family restaurant started by Paul Wahlberg and his family and partners. Paul began the enterprise because of his love for the comfort food, particularly BBQ, his father made. The recipes used by the locations are those that were developed by the family.
