Avery*Sunshine is a native of Chester, Pennsylvania, and has proven to be a powerhouse in the arts. Denise Nicole White, her birth name, started playing piano when she was eight, and began studying classical music at age 11. She added jazz to her repertoire when she was 13.
She has released four albums thus far, and her 2024 effort “So Glad to Know You,” won a Grammy as Best Progressive R&B Album. She has put four tunes on the Top 20 Billboard hits chart, including “Call My Name,” which has become her signature single. It reached No. 1, solidifying her standing in contemporary R&B and soul.
She and her partner Dana Johnson have built a creative operation in Atlanta, where they continue to expand their ventures, both as entrepreneurs and musicians. She is a strong advocate for other musicians, and is also the co-founder of BigShine Recordings, and has created the beauty brand LouMack Beauty Cosmetics Corporation.
She has toured Australia, the UK, Europe, and Asia, where her dynamic performances and beautiful voice enthrall audiences. A review says:
