An outfit that is winning both fans and rave reviews is coming to Cincinnati.
Sweeping Promises is made up of two artists who have known one another for years, but they did not work together until 2019. At that time, they found themselves in the basement of a building on campus, so wrote and then recorded the song “Hunger for a Way Out,” which is the title track to their album of the same name.
Lira Mondal, who is the lead singer, was raised with music, and has a powerful and evocative vocal style. She also handles the bass, while Caufield Schnug is a multi-instrumentalist. The album has been well received by critics and deals with a pertinent theme, as it is about the longing to get away from the grind of working just to pay the rent. At the end of last month, the band released their second album, titled “Good Living is Coming for You.”
Sweeping Promises is happy to be returning to performing live, as the pandemic kept them sidelined for several years. They will be appearing at the MOTR Pub on Wednesday, August 2. The venue prides itself on discovering and nurturing new musical talent, so this band should be a perfect fit. Organizers can use poster printing to create suitable advertising when shows like this take place.
