Tony-winning actress and singer to entertain Cincinnati

A performer with credits on Broadway, and in television and film, will appear soon in Cincinnati.

Kristin Chenoweth is a native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, who began singing when she was a child. The prestigious Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions named her “most promising up-and-coming singer,” which included a full ride to the Philadelphia Academy of Vocal Arts. However, shortly before she was to start school, she auditioned for a show in New York and won a role. At that point, she switched from opera to musical theater.

The move proved to be a successful one, as she won the Tony in 1999 for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her work in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” in which she played Sally Brown. She was nominated a second time in 2003 for her performance of Glinda in “Wicked.”

On television, she was a regular on “The West Wing” and “Pushing Daisies,” and has appeared in recurring roles and individual episodes of programs such as “GBC” and “Glee.” Her film appearances include the role of Princess Skystar in “My Little Pony: The Movie,” and Fifi in “The Peanuts Movie,” and she often performs in concert. A review says:

“If you want to view paradise, go see Kristin Chenoweth in concert.”

Chenoweth will appear at the Aronoff Center on Saturday, October 7. Events like this can be promoted when organizers use poster printing to create colorful advertising.
