Rock singer and TV personality to play Cincinnati

He is a long-time rocker, but also had a gig restoring ships.

Edwin McCain hails from South Carolina and started releasing albums himself early in the 1990s. He began to build a fan base by touring with Hootie and the Blowfish, who are long-time friends of McCain’s. His association with this band enabled him to join them on Atlantic Records, where he dropped his debut album, “Honor Among Thieves” in 1995.

Although the album was successful, it was not until 1998’s “Misguided Roses” that McCain had his breakthrough. The single “I’ll Be” came from this album and rose to a spot among the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 1999, his album “Messenger” produced another hit “I Could Not Ask for More.”

As if a successful musical career were not enough, McCain also joined the television show “Flipping Ships,” a six-part series that ran on Animal Planet. In the show, McCain undertook the restoration of ocean-going vessels that were abandoned and wrote some of the music for the program. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create informative programs.

A review of the artist in concert says:

“Great awesome show from some of this country's greatest musicians. . . . tight songs and laid back kidding around on stage; this band is a true treasure.”

McCain will be at Cincinnati’s Ludlow Garage on June 19 at 8.30 pm.
