Pops goes the holidays in Cincinnati

As the holidays kick off, so do a number of special concerts, including a musical weekend courtesy of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.

The Cincinnati Pops will be playing their Holiday Pops concert soon, featuring Megan Hilty as the guest artist, and John Morris Russell on the podium.

Hilty is well-known for her work on stage and screen, appearing on Broadway as Glinda, the Good Witch in “Wicked” for a year-long run. Her stage appearances also include the role of Doralee Rhodes in ‘9 to 5: The Musical’; Lorelei Lee in ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’; and Brooke Ashton in ‘Noises Off’. The latter performance won her nominations for a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, and a Drama League Award.

John Morris Russell is a native of Cleveland who conducts not only the Pops, but is also associated with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Windsor (Ontario, Canada) Symphony Orchestra, and the Hilton Head Symphony. He has also been a guest conductor at orchestras throughout North America, including the Boston Pops, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic.

The Cincinnati Pops will give their Holiday Pops concert, on December 13 at 8:00 pm; December 14 at 2:00 pm and again at 8:00 pm; and December 15 at 2:00 pm and again at 7:00 pm, at the Cincinnati Music Hall. Banner printing can be used to create festive decorations for events such as this.
