Buddy Guy is often referred to as the blues player other blues players listen to so they can learn how it’s done. Sometimes referred to as the bridge between rock and blues, Buddy Guy has influenced almost every guitarist working today.
In 1957 Guy, a native of Louisiana, moved to Chicago where he heard artists like Muddy Waters, who influenced him and helped him develop what are now called Chicago-style blues. Buddy influenced some of today’s most celebrated guitarists, including Slash and Jeff Beck. A review notes:
“Buddy Guy's performance was incredible! His passion for his talent and his energy is mind blowing!”
Also on the bill with Buddy are Kingfish, and Eric Gales. Kingfish is Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. While he is not yet 25 years old, he is already being hailed as:
“. . . the defining blues voice of his generation.”
He was nominated for nine Blues Music Awards, winning all of them.
Eric Gales is a blue player from Memphis. In 1991, a reader’s poll in Guitar World magazine described Eric as the “Best New Talent.” A review:
“I love to see exceptionally talented guitarists, but Eric is also a true musician and entertainer . . .”
The three master guitarists will be at the Taft Theatre on Friday, November 10. Posters are great tools for advertising events like this, and can be created by using poster printing.Get a Free Quote for Posters
