3DLT, a 3D printing company in the Greater Cincinnati area, is partnering with one of the nation's biggest retailers, Sears, allowing it to offer some of its products on Sears.com.
3DLT's CEO, John Hauer, says Sears customers can find everything that his company makes on the Sears site. Hauer is also looking forward to working with some of Sears' best-known brands, such as DieHard and Craftsman, and helping Sears build excitement around them.
This is not Hauer's first collaboration with other companies. In December, 2014, Hauer announced 3DLT was partnering with Rakuten, which is a Japanese e-retailer. Rakuten is also the fourth-largest commerce website for online purchases in the world. 3DLT also assisted Amazon in setting up a section for products manufactured by the 3D printing process. Hauer says he is “really excited” about forming these associations, as they are creating a worldwide distribution network.
Though usually associated with manufacturing, Hauer is an advocate for the use of 3D printing in the retail sector as well. 3DLT employs designers and printers that are connected with an online retail website that customers can go to and select the design they desire, and have it printed out and shipped directly to them.
3DLT could work with a traditional flyer printing company to create an area-wide mailer about the company’s services.
