Grammy-winning country artist makes stop at Cincinnati

A singer/songwriter who has won numerous awards is coming to Cincinnati.

Alison Krauss is a native of Decatur, Illinois, who began her professional career in 1984. To date, Krauss has released over a dozen albums, some solo efforts, some compilations, and several with her group Union Station, and has won 27 Grammys. Her first solo album was 1987’s “Too Late to Cry,” then in 1989, she released her album “Two Highways” with Union Station. They soon asked her to join the group, and she has been performing with them ever since.

As a teenager, she was praised by Vanity Fair, which called her a Virtuoso, and won the title of the “Most Promising Fiddler in the Midwest” from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass in America.

She and Union Station began to truly gain recognition through in the 1990s, and with the 1990 album “I’ve Got That Old Feeling,” a solo effort. The record was a commercial success, and also brought her her first Grammy win for Best Bluegrass Recording. She has also released the album “Raise the Roof,” on which she worked with the one and only Robert Plant.

A review says:

“Flat out one of the best singer performers alive today. Her voice has amazing tonal qualities and perfect pitch.”

Alison Krauss and Union Station will be at the PNC Pavilion at Riverbend Music Center on June 3. Organizers of events like this often advertise them with Posters, which they can have designed at Print shops.
