The spotlight will once again be shining down on the old Glenmore Bowl in Cheviot, as it showcases its first performance this Friday.
Cheviot is located just about nine miles northwest of Cincinnati. The old bowling alley, which was originally constructed to house a movie theatre, will be coming full circle this month as a community theater makes final renovations and takes over the 84-year old building to restore it to its original intended use. While the movie theater may not have lasted, Mary Stone, who is president of the Drama Workshop, has big plans for it as a community theater. She said:
"One of our members actually crawled through the loft and discovered the 22-foot high ceilings and he said, 'You know this for us.'"
Community organizations and other groups that regularly hold events such as plays, musicals, or other programs might mean extra business for local printing companies. A number of printing services and materials will probably be used by such group as the community theater to Print out programs, tickets, and other necessary materials. Poster printing and flyer printing are often used to announce upcoming shows, programs, and other activities.
While the original movie theater only lasted a short while, the building housed Glenmore Bowl for decades. The community turned out to bowl in the old bowling alley one last time in January at a fundraiser held by the Drama Workshop to raise funds for renovations.
For the old Glenmore Bowl, it seems that the show will go on. The first performance at the new community theater in the old movie theater and bowling alley is scheduled for this Friday, October 5, as ‘Snoopy’ takes to the stage.Get a Free Quote for Print
