An upscale hamburger restaurant is looking at downtown Cincinnati as the place to open its next location.
According to an April 30 news article, Bru Burger, which is part of the Cunningham Restaurant Group, is considering taking over the space formerly belonging to El Coyote, and before that, Cadillac Ranch.
The location is on the southwest corner of Walnut and Sixth, in Cincinnati's downtown. The president and CEO of Cunningham, Mike Cunningham, has already signed a Letter of Intent stating his desire to lease approximately half the space, comprising about 4,500 square feet.
Cunningham, who is a native of Cincinnati, believes there are many positive things happening in the city. He has spent the last three years learning about the local market, and sees many opportunities, especially as people start to move back to urban areas. He hopes to open by July 14, the date of the All-Star Game, but says it is more likely the restaurant will open in August.
Although Bru Burger serves traditional hamburgers, it specializes in gourmet treats such as the Farmstead Burger, which includes prosciutto, apple mostarda, shaved Brussels sprouts, garlic aioli, and feta cheese. The menu includes vegan options.
Cunningham could work with a flyer printing company to create a handout for distribution at the location during the opening. If he includes a coupon, he might draw even more customers.
