Wishbone Ash first got together in 1969 in the English city of Torquay, with Martin Turner, Steve Upton, Ted Turner, and Andy Powell as the founding members. Ted Turner and Andy Powell were guitarists, and at the time duo guitar playing was making headlines, thanks to artists like Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, who were performing in the Yardbirds together.
Turner and Powell were voted “Two of the Ten Most Important Guitarists in Rock History” in 1989, by Traffic magazine. Over the years, Wishbone Ash has been cited as an influence by such bands as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Halen, and Iron Maiden.
Over time, Wishbone Ash has released 20 singles, 10 compilation albums, 12 live albums, 24 studio albums, and two tribute albums. Two of their albums have been certified silver, and one gold.
A review says:
“This was one of the best live shows I have ever been to. Period. . . . They still have it. New additions were chosen well as they blend right in. Singer still has his voice. It was an amazing show. We will now fly up to Oakland to see them this weekend. They still rock!!!”
Wishbone Ash will be at the Ludlow Garage on March 3, 2021, at 8:30 pm. Flyer printing can be used successfully to advertise events like this.
