The Tedeschi Trucks Band is based in Jacksonville, and first got together in 2010, with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, a married couple, as the leaders. In 2011 they dropped “Revelator,” their debut, which won the Grammy for Best Blues Album in 2012. They had a great year in 2013, as they released “Made Up My Mind,” and were nominated for the Blues Music Award. Since they began their career, they have won five Grammys.
Tedeschi Trucks Band is a large outfit, numbering from 8 to 12 musicians at various times, who among them play drums, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, bass, and flute. Susan and Derek committed to the economic difficulties of keeping such a large outfit viable and even added instruments as the band developed.
The band spends more than 200 days annually on the road, playing classic material from artists such as Joe Cocker, Miles Davis, and Sly & the Family Stone, as well as writing and presenting their own material. A Rolling Stone review says:
"The . . . outfit puts out a big band sound that still rings intimate, shaking listeners to their emotional core."
The Tedeschi Trucks Band will be at the PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati on July 11 at 6.30 pm. Poster printing can be used to advertise events like this.
