American Idol champ schedules Cincinnati concert

A singer and guitarist who won “American Idol” will be appearing in Cincinnati.

Though David Cook was highly successful on the TV show in 2008, his appearance was accidental. He went to an audition with his brother to lend his support, and wound up auditioning himself after being noticed by a producer. He impressed the judges enough to win an invitation to Hollywood, where he won the competition.

Cook was born in Texas and began singing as a child, taking up guitar when he was 13 and forming his first band at age 15. In 2006, he released his debut album “Analog Heart,” which was a modest success, and had a second, unreleased, album completed before he competed on “Idol.” After his appearance on the show, he rocketed to the top of the charts, placing 11 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously, beating out previous record holder Miley Cyrus.

Cook has also demonstrated his talent for acting, playing Charlie Price in two limited runs of the hit musical “Kinky Boots” on Broadway.

A review says:

“In an intimate setting, David shined. A great musician, song writer and vocalist to start with, he was articulate & readily interacted with the audience. . . . Wonderful show.”

David Cook will be at the Ludlow Garage on April 10 at 8:30 pm, in a rescheduled performance. Brochure printing can be used to create informative programs for events like this.
