Actress and comedian set to play Cincinnati

An actress and comedian Time Magazine named to its Time 100 list of the world’s most influential people in 2012 will appear in Cincinnati.

A native of New Jersey, Chelsea Handler was 19 when she moved to Los Angeles to study acting. She worked as a waitress while she tried to break into the business, and turned to stand-up comedy after making others in a class of offenders laugh when she told a story about her arrest.

Handler has enjoyed a long and successful career in television as an actor and host, both of her own shows and special events. She hosted “The Chelsea Handler Show” in 2006 and 2007, and that same year toured the United States as a member of Comedy Central’s Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. As a comedian, she has appeared on “Love Lounge” on VH1, “Premium Blend” on Comedy Central, and the HBO broadcast of the Aspen Comedy Festival. She also hosted the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, becoming only the second woman to act as the lone host for the event.

Handler has even more credits as a producer, and is a best-selling author. A review says of her show:
“. . . to say it was one the best stand-up shows I have ever seen would be a drastic understatement.”

Handler will be at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati on Saturday, December 2. Organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create advertisements for the occasion.
