At the November Village of Rockville Centre’s Board of Trustees meeting, two new officers received the oath of office from Police Commissioner Charles Gennario.
Rockville Centre’s two new police officers are Brian Vacchio and Michael Rollo. Francis X. Murray, Rockville Centre’s mayor, expressed his confidence that the two new officers would effectively play their part in keeping the village residents and businesses safe.
Vacchio and Rollo, while sporting the digital Business Cards that reflect their new position, can each reflect back on the education and career choices that have brought them to this point.
Officer Vacchio is a Nassau County native who attended college in C.W. Post and Delaware Valley College. His career as a police officer began with the New York Police Department in 2008, where he spent two years with the 79th precinct followed by five years with the 110th precinct. Vacchio twice received the meritorious Police Duty medal and seven times earned the Excellent Police Duty medal.
Officer Rollo, although born in Flushing, New York, grew up in Nassau County. He is a 2005 graduate of W.T. Clarke High School after which he attained a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Chemistry from the University of New Haven. In January 2013, Rollo started his law enforcement career with the New York City Police Department, working as patrol officer with the 115th Precinct.
