RVC mayor sets up video contest

Rockville Centre has called upon its citizens to let them know why they love their village by setting up a new competition.

Residents of the small New York state village have been invited to create and share a short, home-made video that explains what it is that they love about living in Rockville Centre.

The contest has been named ‘I ♥ RVC!’ and is being promoted online. The competition will be running into next year, which gives organizers the time to hire Print companies to make use of flyer printing in order to attract more entrants.

All videos submitted will be judged by Mayor Francis X. Murray and the whole of the Board of Trustees and a winner will be selected. Mayor Murray has outlined his expectations from residents, and has said that it will give them the opportunity to showcase “what they love most about living, working and playing in Rockville Centre”. He also states that he is looking forward to seeing all of the videos.

Submissions must be a high definition video that does not exceed three minutes in duration and must contain ‘I ♥ RVC!’ in the title. The deadline for these submissions will be 11:59 pm on March 2, 2015, with the winning video being announced on Rockville Centre’s Facebook page on March 20. The rules and other information can be found on the village website.
