Rockville Centre welcomes tenor

The Rockville Centre Public Library Friends are preparing for a once in a lifetime performance.

Tenor David Katz will be performing as part of their long-running concert series, bringing a blend of classical and show tunes in one show.

David Katz is an Arizona native who studied as a cantor in Jerusalem. Later training in other classical Forms of singing, he has sung opera around the world, including parts in Boheme and La Triviata, as well as more modern musicals such as Hair and Rocky Horror Picture Show. He has performed alongside the One World Symphony and the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra.

For the concert in Rockville Centre, Katz will be accompanied by pianist Edward Stolarz. He will perform a mix of Broadway hits, as well as some of the more recognizable favorites from the world of opera and classical music. Refreshments will not be served at the concert, so guests are advised to eat beforehand.

The concert is featured prominently in the library’s newsletter printing, making the front page alongside the normal mention in the adult events section. It stresses the quality of the talent on display and that the concert is not to be missed.

David Katz will be performing tomorrow, May 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rockville Centre Public Library, located at 221 North Village Ave. Admission to the event is free to the public. Anyone interested in more information should contact the library directly.
