While kids may appreciate their time off during the winter holiday season, it may leave parents scrambling to find activities for their youngsters. A local venue has an option in the works.
Rockville Centre families have been offered the chance to register for full day programming at Center for Science, Teaching, and Learning, and there are several dates scheduled. These will each use experiments and other hands-on fun to introduce STEM-related subjects, and they are for young people from the ages of 5 to 12.
Attendees will be encouraged to discover the fun of exploring and learning about their world, and visits with live animals, demonstrations by the Center’s staff of professional teachers, and science shows are all in the works. As the group will spend time outside, weather permitting, parents are reminded to make sure they are dressed appropriately. The registration fee is $75 each, which goes up 48 hours ahead of the scheduled date for a session.
An event that makes learning fun may spark an interest in science among kids. Activity sheets and other learning materials for an event can be crafted by a printing services company.
The Center for Science Teaching and Learning will offer its full-day programs on dates during December. More information, as well as details about how to register, can be found on its website.
