Rockville Centre sells plants and gifts for mom

The residents of Rockville Centre are getting ready for Mother's Day by visiting the 27th Annual Spring Fairmother's Day Plant Sale. The event features a wide variety of items for sale.

What originally started as a plant sale has transformed into one of the largest rummage and antique sales in the area. Visitors will be able to tour a Granny's Attic style room filled with secondhand and vintage treasures donated by members of the community. Some homemade arts and crafts, including carvings, needlepoint, knitting, and handmade Holiday Cards will also be available at the sale, as well as baked goods and other sweets to eat or take home.

The plants being sold are all locally grown and of the highest quality. Guests can choose from a wide array of flowers, bushes, trees, shrubs, and even fruits and vegetables. Some soil, pots, and tools may also be available, but supplies will be extremely limited. Some of the volunteers on hand will also be able to offer tips on the best way to care for and transplant the items purchased.

The Spring Fairmother's Day Plant Sale will be held on May 13 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the United Church of Rockville Centre, located at 430 Morris Ave. Admission is free to the public, and anyone looking for more info should visit the website.
