Rockville Centre Library offers horticultural workshop

There are many ways to build a beautiful garden, and a Rockville Centre workshop will make it easier for those who have not been graced with a green thumb to have horticultural success.

The learning session, which will be held at the Rockville Centre Public Library, will be led by a CCE Nassau Master Gardener Volunteer, and they will share their expertise in a way that is friendly for the newbie gardener. The aim is to simplify the whole process of starting up a garden.

The presenter will discuss the basics of garden design from the ground on up. Attendees will learn how they can choose different combinations of foliage and flower textures, colors, and Forms, and how they should be sure to keep in mind the final height and spread of the plants they choose. Questions about the workshop of the Master Gardener Volunteer program itself can be directed to Jennifer Hochuli at 516-832-2591 ext.115.

Libraries are often hubs to the communities they serve, hosting a variety of learning opportunities for the general public. A brochure printing company can provide Copies of handouts and other informational materials.

This introduction to the art and science of flower garden design will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 18. A registration link can be found on the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County’s website.
