Residents and bibliophiles in the Rockville Centre area are looking forward to this year's kick-off to their Adult Summer Reading Program. With a special guest presenter, the event features new Books and a commitment to read more over the summer.
The guest speaker this year will be Carol Fitzgerald, the president and founder of the review conglomerate The Book Report Network. Fitzgerald brings years of experience in matching readers with the types of Books that they might be interested in. The websites connected with her company are literary review sites that post reviews sorted by interest and demographics. Since first starting the company, her sites have become a focal point in the online review world and she has strong connections to the publishing industry.
Fitzgerald will give a short presentation on trends among Print companies and the kinds of stories that are finding traction nowadays. She will give a few case examples of new work as well as talking about the best and most buzz worthy works that have either been recently released or that will be released shortly. After the talk participants in the Summer Reading Program will be able to pick up their Books and other materials needed to participate in the program.
The Adult Summer Reading Program Kick-Off will be held on June 27 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Rockville Centre Public Library, located at 221 N. Village Ave. Attendance is free to the public. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly.
