The Rockville Centre Parks and Recreation Department is stepping in this season with a bevy of things to do. The Holiday Recess Activities offer four days full of engagement for kids of any age to keep them occupied as they take a break from school.
The events are open to any children who are registered members of the Rec Department for the 2016/2017 year. A huge mix of possible activities are available. On three of the days, children can watch a film. A play is available on the other day.
Every day also has the option of attending a ‘just for fun’ event, where kids can simply play with trampolines, rope swings, and more in the gym.
Some athletic activities are also being organized. Participants can go ice skating or swimming, compete in the 21st Annual Holiday Games, play dodgeball, foam hockey, or kickball, and also go bowling. One day will even feature a combo of bounce houses, laser tag, and ballocity, titled LI Laser Bounce. A complete list of activities is available on the event Flyers.
The Holiday Recess Activities will take place from December 27 to 30 at various times at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center. Fees for each event vary from $13 to $48 per child, and events must be registered for in advance. Anyone looking for more info should contact the rec department directly.
