Rockville Centre asked to give important holiday gift

While Rockville Centre residents prepare for the holiday season, they are asked to consider giving a gift that may be the most important one they give all year.

The New York Blood Center’s mobile blood collection station will be at Northwell Health Park in Lake Success, and appointments are now open for booking. The organizers note that each donation can save up to three lives, and due to a nationwide shortage, these contributions are particularly important right now.

The donation process takes about an hour, and those who have received their Covid vaccine are eligible to donate. Everyone who registers to make a contribution will need to bring their ID and a mask along with them. According to the New York Blood Center’s website, most people can donate blood, but anyone who cannot will still be able to lend a hand by making a financial contribution.

Since many people want to help others, a poster printing company will be able to produce materials that let them know how, when, and where there are opportunities for them to get involved in their own home area. It can offer a range of options, including ones that may fit in well to the budget of a not-for-profit group.

The Mobile Blood Collection vehicle will be parked at Northwell Health Park on December 16. Its website offers details about timing and other information.
