Whether they are an athlete or “weekend warrior”, shoulder injuries can happen to almost anyone. The treatment of these conditions will be the focus of a free workshop that will be offered this April near Rockville Centre, and it will be hosted by the Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute.
This event, which is intended for the general public, will provide an introduction to shoulder injuries and the different treatment options available. The goal is to create healthcare consumers who are informed and able to be active participants in their treatment plan.
The seminar will explore the differences between osteo and rheumatoid arthritis and a rotator cuff injury, and the various treatments that are available. Both surgery and more conservative care options will be discussed, as will the recovery process. The participants will also learn about the possible outcomes and what steps they can take to aid their own recovery from a shoulder injury.
Nicholas Sgaglione, MD and Alex Schieck, who is a physical therapist will be the facilitators for this learning opportunity. As “an ounce of prevention can be worth a pound of cure”, the organizer may wish to have Booklets that supply tips for preventing shoulder injuries prepared for this sort of function by brochure printing company.
Northwest Health, which is located at 2000 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park, will be hosting this workshop on April 4. It is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm sharp.
