November bustles with activities in Hewlett area

Several events are coming up this month in Rockville Centre, just a short distance from Hewlett.

First, the annual 10K, 5K, and Family Fun Run will be held on Saturday, November 7. Beginning at 9:00 am will be the one-mile family Fun Run, followed by the 5K and 10K at 10:00 am. Front Street by the Long Island Railroad Station is the starting point for the Fun Run, while N. Park Street near Sunrise will be the starting point for the other two races, both of which will end at the train station.

Also this Saturday will be the monthly eCycling event, where residents of the town may bring their electronics to the Department of Public Works. Some of the acceptable items include computers and any peripheral devices, DVD and VCR players, cameras and video equipment, and calculators.

A Children’s Marketplace will be held at the Rockville Centre Recreation Center from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 15. Planned for sale at the Marketplace will be toys, children’s clothing in good condition, baby swings, toddler beds, and many other items for infants and toddlers.

The MLK Community Center will be hosting a Thanksgiving Feast from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday November 20. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
