Longstanding store to close as month ends

Joan Stadt will close up shop for the last time at the end of February after almost four decades of or running her Rockville Centre interior design business and retail establishment.

For 37 years, Joan Stadt has sold furniture and decorations out of store at 35 S. Park Avenue here in Rockville Centre. Additionally, she has used the location as a base of operations for her interior design work. While her store may be closing, that does not mean that Stadt is retiring; she says she will continue doing design work and will most likely find an office to work out of somewhere in the village.

Stadt will have plenty to occupy her during this transitional phase of her life. In addition to trying to dispose of her inventory, she will also no doubt want to confer with a business card printing service on the design of her new digital Business Cards and other Stationery items.

Stadt has deep roots in Rockville Centre; she has lived here since 1967. Moreover, she has run a business here since 1979 and raised a family in Rockville Centre. Although she says she has no desire to move out of the village, she does admit that the freedom not being tied to a store provides will allow her to travel more. She is especially eager to visit Austria, where her daughter and grandchildren reside.
