Donations of winter outerwear sought for Rockville Centre organization

Rockville Centre is prepping for the upcoming holiday season, and the community has planned many events to celebrate this festive time of the year. One of its initiatives will help to make sure everyone has warm hands and heads, and the public has been asked to show its support.

The Rockville Centre recreation department will once again be setting up its Mitten and Hat Tree, which will serve as a drop-off point for community donations of these items of cold weather wear. Anyone who would like to contribute can bring their donation to the Rec. Office, and they will be passed along to those in need.

The organizers of the clothing drive noted that all colors, sizes, and styles of warm hats, mittens, gloves and other Outerwear that can help fend off the cold will be used to decorate the department’s Mitten Tree. They went onto say that it can be a fun and easy way to make sure everyone is warm during the holiday season and the winter days beyond.

This type of event usually depends on the support of the community to be a success, and Print shops can help. They can craft a variety of items that help to build the buzz, which can assist in assuring there will be lots of donations made by the public.

This year’s Annual Mitten and Hat Tree collection will run from December 1 to 11. All donations will be appreciated.
