A whimsical Rockville Centre winter holiday activity will be returning for its ninth year, and it will encourage one and all to show some love to their local small business community.
Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce will be bringing back its Snowman Hunt campaign, which will kick off the area’s holiday shopping season. Each participating merchant will display a snowman decal to help build anticipation for the occasion, and local companies are encouraged to add their name to the list of participating establishments.
To help the public locate each business that will take part, a map has been designed. To add even more fun, on Saturdays during December, a costumed snowman character will be strolling around the community's downtown district for photo ops and meet and greets.
The fee to register an establishment for the activity is $50 each. One of the publicity opportunities that comes from getting involved is that the event will be announced in the Rockville Centre Herald a week in advance, and it will be heavily marketed by the Chamber in other ways as well. Printed maps, coupons, cloth shopping Totes with a special graphic design, and other items can all be ordered from local Print shops.
This opportunity to be part of a Rockville Centre tradition is accepting registrations until next Thursday, October 31. Its Patch listing offers further information.
