September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and Henry Schein Cares (established by Henry Schein, Inc. located in Melville), is working together with the Large Urology Group Practice Association (LUGPA) to raise awareness about the need for prostate cancer screenings for men.
According to the President of Henry Schein Medical, Dave McKinley, an important part of the mission of Henry Schein Cares is to promote wellness and raise awareness about health issues of great importance, especially those that can be treated through early detection. The company is glad that it has the opportunity to partner with such illustrious organizations to educate the public about speaking with their doctors about having screening for prostate cancer.
To honor National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, the LUGPA and the IMA will be supported by Henry Schein, Inc. with various types of communications that will raise awareness amongst the public and practitioners about early detection of prostate cancer. Local Print companies may be involved in creating educational materials, and public service announcements may also be part of the campaign.
The IMF also has a ‘Pies Against Prostate’ campaign, which Henry Schein will also support as part of this effort. It encourages women and men to post videos of themselves getting pies in their face on social media channels, and challenging others to do the same.
