Long Island residents are invited to help St. Jude raise money for its charitable goals in September by attending a walk/run in Melville.
The St. Jude Walk/Run is a family-friendly fundraiser where teams earn funds for the organization while raising awareness for the non-profit’s cause. The goal for this year’s event is to raise at least $150,000. Participants have already earned more than $100,000 for St. Jude. Those interested in the event can choose to show up to the walk/run in person or partake in a virtual version of the program. People can also apply to be volunteers for the occasion.
Teams or individuals who join the fundraiser can get rewards for hitting certain donation milestones. Participants who have earned $100 for the cause will receive an event t-shirt for their efforts, while those with $500 in donations can get a backpack. Other rewards include a chrome ballpoint pen, charging dock, and fire pit. All fundraising pages will remain open until December 31st. Organizers for fundraisers like this can promote the cause using poster printing.
The walk/run will occur on September 25th at the Marcum Corporate Offices and Park. Registration for the activity opens at 9:00 am and the walk will start at 10:00 am. People who wish to donate to a team or individual can find all available fundraising pages on the event website. Donations can be made via credit card or check.
