Melville to host technology and education summit

The Long Island Technology and Education Summit (LITES) will be held this October at the Huntington Hilton Hotel in Melville.

LITES is a conference that invites educators throughout New York to attend and share new ideas and trends. Those who attend the summit will be treated to a light breakfast and a lunch buffet. Awards will be given out to administrators and teachers during the conference, such as the Visionary Award and the Most Innovative Use of Technology Award. Guests interested in networking with other attendees can use business card printing to ensure they have enough cards for their potential new contacts.

The keynote speaker for the LITES event will be Adam Welcome, who has had experience as a teacher and principal. Welcome is also a novelist who has written Empower our Girls and Run Like a Pirate. He even worked as a Direct of Innovation for 35,000 students. There are several publications that Welcome has written for, including EdWeek and NAESP Magazine.

The Long Island Technology and Education Summit will occur on Friday, October 18. Anybody interested in attending the conference can pay $125 per person. All guests must first register for the event in advance under their own region’s Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES). Those who are unaffiliated with a specific BOCES can register with any region's BOCES.
