Melville to hold nursing convention

The Nursing Students Association of New York State (NSANYS) will hold its annual conference at the Hilton Long Island in Melville.

NSANYS 72nd Annual Convention: Nursing - A Limitless Future is a convention where nursing students can learn about how nursing can exist outside the typical clinical setting. The event is designed to help attendees gain a refreshing perspective on their careers and allow them to meet with exhibitors. The nursing conference will also include breakout sessions that cover topics such as entrepreneurship in nursing, how to get involved with professional organizations, and nursing policies. Those who host breakout sessions can connect with their audience by gifting them Promotional Products.

The keynote speakers for the convention are Dr. Kenya Beard and Dr. Angela M. Godwin Beoku-Betts. Dr. Beard is the dean and chief nursing officer at the Mercy University School of Nursing. Dr. Godwin Beoku-Betts is the owner of The Weight NP, which is a private weight loss clinic. There will also be activities at the conference like playing with therapy dogs and getting professional headshots. Attendees may even receive interview advice from current nursing professionals.

The nursing convention will be on Saturday, February 10th from 8:00am to 6:00pm. Tickets to the event will cost $92.55 for those who are not members of the organization. Members can pay $87.21 to register. People can become a member of the NSANYS by applying online. The organization is only open to nursing students.
