Medical professionals can attend a course in Melville that teaches attendees crucial skills for patient wound care.
The Ultimate Hands-On Wound Care Clinical Lab is a one-day program where nurses, educators, and physician assistants can learn how to treat and manage wounds from an experienced instructor. The seminar will teach students about different tissue types of chronic wounds and how to document peri-wound status. Participants in the clinical lab will also learn about different kinds of dressings and be taught how to develop an appropriate treatment protocol for an injury.
Ann Kahl Taylor is the instructor of the wound care seminar. She has been part of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Certification Board and has written more than 20 abstracts on wounds. Taylor owns Kahl WOC Consults and is part of the NationalWound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society. She has over 20 years of experience as a medical professional and has also worked as a legal consultant.
The wound treatment course is on Thursday, March 21 from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The cost of the program is $249.99 per student, though the price will increase to $269.99 after March 1. Discounts are available to those in the military. The seminar will be held at the Melville Marriott Long Island.
