Ultimate Battle Of The Bands III - 1979: New Wave vs. Old School, pits two popular music styles from 1979 against each other in a quest to prove the best.
The organizers of the Battle of the Bands is the New York Roots Music Association. The artists involved with this group plan to revive the music of 1979. The acts will perform live on stage the songs most popular in each genre in 1979. The concert will include performances of songs by megastars like Queen, Blondie, Dire Straits, and many others. Each genre will have an entire set to show the best of what they offered.
Participants can slip into their favorite rock band tees, do some banner printing, and be ready to take part in the excitement. The audience is a part of the experience and will stand, dance and show what music is really the best. Every audience member should prepare to make a choice of what music style they believe is best.
The Ultimate Battle of the Bands is March 23, from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the American Legion Post 360 at 1 Mill Dam Road in Huntington. Limited seating is available, and all tickets are general admission. The ticket fee is $20 to reserve a spot and an additional $25 at the door. Doors will open at 7:00 pm.
