Melville institute to give Japanese workshop

The JP Language Institute in Melville will hold a lesson in May for those interested in Japanese culture and language.

The Japanese Workshop is an event where people can learn more about the East Asian country from the instructors at the JP Language Institute. The program will teach attendees basic Japanese and show students how to write basic kanji, which is the name of the characters used in Japanese writing. The organizers will provide snacks and drinks during the workshop. Only 15 individuals can participate in the institute’s program. Academies that offer similar cultural experiences to this may use brochure printing to give people informative materials to bring home.

The JP Language Institute is an organization that offers comprehensive language programs for children and adults. Many languages are taught at the institute, including Italian, Chinese, Spanish, and American English. The school meets the standards established by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and creates a fun, positive learning environment for students. Other activities held at the organization include the Chinese Hotpot Event and the Japanese Flower Arrangement Event.

The workshop will be on Saturday, May 4 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. There is no cost for people to take part in the learning experience, though registration in advance is required. Those interested in learning about Japanese flower arranging can attend the event on Friday, May 31 at 6:00 pm. The class will cost $35 for non-members of the language institute.
