Capnospot will be distributed to the customers of the emergency medical services of Henry Schein Medical. It provides a visual indication which is objective and measures the accuracy of where a pneumothorax needle is placed using a simple change of colors. This will allow providers to proceed quickly then with other therapies that can save lives.
The Capnospot Pneumothorax Decompression Indicator is lightweight, portable, and small and fits on the sharp part of a needle that goes into the skin with a standard luer lock. As pneumothorax gas moves through the Capnospot device and the needle, there is an indicator of blue paper that turns yellow when it detects any carbon dioxide in the gas emitted.
