Melville breakfast seminar targets educators

EPS School Specialty will hold a seminar at the Marriott Melville Long Island in December to teach people about the Specialized Program Individualizing Reading Excellence (S.P.I.R.E.).

S.P.I.R.E. Breakfast Seminar: Structured Literacy Instruction is an event where educators can learn about a new teaching approach that accommodates those with dyslexia and types of learning disabilities. The seminar will show attendees the 10-step lesson used in S.P.I.R.E. and allow guests to network with other literacy coaches and educators. People can learn about structured literacy Orton-Gillingham instruction from the event’s expert speaker. Sheila Clark-Edmands is the author of the S.P.I.R.E. program. The organizer for the event is Theresa Gilstrap.

EPS School Specialty is a company that produces curriculums for preschoolers, elementary schoolers, and high school students. The organization works with several authors, such as Diana Hanbury King, Joan Fleiss Kaplan, and Mary Page. The topics covered in the curriculums include cursive writing skills, grammar, and keyboarding skills. The company has also created programs such as Wordly Wise and Coach.

The breakfast seminar will take place on Wednesday, December 6th from 9:00am to noon. There is no cost to register for EPS School Specialty’s event, though registration is required.
