Melville boxing charity to hold virtual fundraiser

The annual Long Island Fight for Charity event will be organizing a virtual fundraising campaign this year in Melville.

The Gloves are Off Campaign is a fundraiser that will help support organizations like The Long Island Community Chest and National Foundation of Human Potential. The boxing event has been digitally replaced this year due to the current pandemic, though many boxers in the business community will still be involved with raising funds. This year, participants include fighters like Jeff Cohen, Ben Cooper, and Keith Dawson.

The main sponsor for the event, FBA National, has issued a challenge to the business leaders of Long Island for this special virtual fundraiser. The company will match every dollar donated by those who donate $1,000 at a time. Some of the boxers, such as Robert Hepworth and Adam Schwan, have already raised more than $10,000 each for the featured charities. Organizations looking to spread awareness for fundraisers like this can use Print shops to make Flyers.

The charity campaign is an ongoing event that will last until the end of the year. Those interested in helping the non-profit organizations can donate as much as they desire online. Participants can choose which charity they want to receive their funds. Anyone who would like to sponsor or become a volunteer boxer for the event can contact the organizers to apply.
