Henry Schein, Inc., a provider of healthcare products for medical practitioners, animal health, and dental offices with headquarters in Melville, recently participated in the American Dental Association Foundation’s Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) program by helping increase access to oral health care for underserved children in the United States.
GKAS Day is celebrated on the first Friday in February, but events take place throughout the year. It is a result of a public-private partnership between Henry Schein, the ADA Foundation, DEXIS, and Colgate-Palmolive.
As part of the program, free oral health screenings, treatment, and education will be given to 300,000 underserved children at 1,500 locations nationwide. Among those involved will be 10,000 dentists and close to 40,000 dental volunteers. Henry Schein and supplier partners of the company will donate 3,000 kits of essential oral healthcare products
According to the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, Inc., Stanley Bergman, the company is deeply committed to the program, given the kindness of the company’s supplier partners. It will work to ensure that each child who participates in the program will have a lifetime of bright and healthy smiles.
Henry Schein and its supplier partners may have created Flyers about this program that can be distributed in dental offices so as to increase awareness of it in the community.
