Global communications company receives million-dollar order

Comtech Telecommunications Corp., with headquarters in Melville, recently announced that a $1.1m order of infrastructure equipment was awarded to one of its subsidiaries, Comtech EF Data Corp., located in Tempe, Arizona.

The customer is an operator of a major Asian mobile network, and will now expand and upgrade its current mobile network by increasing the amount of data that can be transmitted through the satellite connections it already has in place.

To reach this goal, the customer has ordered a range of the company’s innovative products, including several advanced satellite modems and frequency converters, which will improve the mobile experience of its users.

According to the President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., Dr. Stanton Sloane, Comtech is pleased that the customer has chosen to use its equipment, as it will enable the customer to increase its throughput demands and grow its business while lowering overall operating costs.
