Northwell Health Crisis Management will offer a training program in Melville that teaches people how to use a popular tracking system.
eFINDs Train the Trainer is a lesson where healthcare providers are taught how to keep track of their patients during different kinds of evacuations. The application, eFINDs, can be used by hospitals to see which temporary shelters or facilities their residents end up at after being relocated. The app also captures minimal amounts of data. Medical centers are recommended to send a staff member to the training program if they need to replace their current eFINDs facility-based trainer.
The speaker at the workshop will be Glenn Schaefering, the current director of Northwell Health Crisis Management. He started working for Northwell Health in 2012 as an emergency management coordinator and became an operations manager for the organization in 2015. Schaefering also has experience as a volunteer firefighter for Garden City Park’s fire department. He also went to the State University of New York Empire State College.
The workshop will be on Thursday, August 10 from 9:00 am to 3:05 pm. People who wish to participate in Schaefering’s program must register by August 8. The event will be at the Northwell Health Suffolk County Training Location. Companies that have training sessions like this may use banner printing to market their classes to more locals.
