Comfort kits provided by Henry Schein and partners

Henry Schein, Inc., headquartered in Melville, recently announced that it will be partnering with 20 of its suppliers to provide 3,000 Welcome Kits to the Hope Lodge facilities of the American Cancer Society.

These kits will go to the people at these homes, where cancer patients and their caregivers can stay while the patients are undergoing treatment away from home.

Personal hygiene products, such as soap, toothpaste, tissues, and skin cream and related items are included in the kits to help make guests’ stays at these homes more comfortable. Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of the company, is providing this donation.

According to the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Henry Schein, Stanley Bergman, Hope Lodge guests demonstrate a great deal of strength and courage, not only by endeavoring to fight cancer but doing so in new surroundings in an unfamiliar city. It is hoped that this program will provide some items to residents with comforts of home.

Henry Schein has been providing these Welcome Kits for the past seven years but has doubled its usual donation this year. People in 26 facilities will be receiving these kits from Hope Lodge throughout the year.

Henry Schein might also turn to a local Print company to include a flyer in each kit, with words of support and encouragement.
