Award for contributions to dental health bestowed on local VP

The New York University College of Dentistry recently awarded Steven W. Kess, the Vice President of Global Professional Relations for Henry Schein, Inc. with headquarters in Melville, the Harry Strusser Memorial Award.

The award was presented to Kess at the graduation ceremonies of the college by Dean and Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Charles N. Bertolami, at Madison Square Garden on June 1.

Dr. Harry Strusser graduated from the College in 1918 as an orthodontist and then attended Columbia University to earn a Master of Science degree in public health, and has spent much of his professional life in that field. The award is for those who made significant contributions to dental public health, focusing on childhood in particular.

Kess has supported the company’s public health outreach programs and help to found Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of the company.

Dr. Bertolami commented that Kess has been a leader in the field of public health for many years and has been able to create partnerships between the public and private sectors that have promoted public health around the world.

Henry Schein may be turning to local flyer printing companies to let its animal health, dental, and medical practitioners become aware of this award and its partnership with the university college.
