The Syracuse Sports Association has a training event coming up that fits in frightfully with the spooky season.
For the third year in a row, it will be hosting the Run of the Dead; a 5K run that raises funds for the Wilderness Search and Rescue Team of New York State.
Runners will have to navigate a course full of obstacles. On top of that, the runners will need to avoid the zombie players who are trying to “eat their brains”. Each runner will have a belt with flags on it, like a flag football belt, and the zombies will be trying to remove the flags. A runner is “eaten” when all of his or her flags have been removed.
Those who wish to watch this spectacle without participating can purchase tickets to do so. There will be food and entertainment provided. DJs will be performing throughout the day, and spectators can take part in activities like sumo wrestling, jousting, and zombie survival training.
Promoters for this event may turn to printing companies to create Flyers or Posters that they can use for marketing. Distributing these materials in Syracuse and nearby towns like Liverpool can help draw more attention to it.
The Run of the Dead will take place at the Syracuse Sports Park on Saturday, October 11. There is a $10 admission fee for spectators or $5 for those under 18. Runners and zombies must register beforehand to participate in the event.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters
