Liverpool gets in festive spirits with 5K
Runners and holiday enthusiasts will gather for the 11th Annual Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K this November at Onondaga Lake Park.
The event will blend festive fun with competitive running, offering participants an opportunity to kick off the Christmas season while supporting local charities.
Participants may choose Team Grinch or Team Santa, either in-person or virtual. Registration fees for the in-person races are $38, which includes a $3 processing fee. Virtual participation costs $43, including fees. Prices increase after next Tuesday, September 30 for most categories and October 31 for virtual Santa participants. Runners will receive a custom finisher medal and themed stocking as part of the experience.
Race day will begin with packet pickup from 8:30 am to 9:45 am at the Salt Museum. The official race starts at 10:00 am, concluding with awards given to age and overall group winners. Awards will also be given to best-dressed, funniest, and most creative ugly sweaters. A post-race celebration will follow at the Cobblestone.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Ainsley’s Angels of Syracuse and the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
Organizers may encourage participants to engage the community by sharing event information via flyer printing or social media to increase attendance and awareness.
